Rested, whilst also preparing and stocking up for the next 80km that will offer no shops or facilities other than a couple of camping sites... with no water or electricity, I believe? This leg may take 4-5 days although I am beginning to believe that some bigger paddling days are not far away, whilst recognising of course that the weather will always be the dominant determinant.
Also used the time to recharge phones, radios, laptop, lantern ... We need a generator on board!
We must head north up the Coromandel Peninsula before rounding Cape Colville whereafter we'll be on the open seas and can begin heading south. Easterlies are forecast from Wednesday night onwards. These winds will be a new experience after the north-westerlies. Gonzo adds that at least they won't be blowing us to Chile!

- Cameron picked me up on the Saturday, drove me out to collect the repaired kayak, and then provided me with a sightseeing tour of the stunning coast... and then invited me to the family home for dinner and the opportunity to meet friends. Let me know when you're coming to Sydney, please.
- John, I walked in off the street with my story of a 'smashed' kayak and you immediately got on the phone and began ringing around to find help for me... and you made me a seat cushion that seems to be working. Cheers!!!
