In the Friday, December 11, 2009 edition of the Hauraki Herald the events that saw Travis have to evacuate his home last Saturday night made the front page nearly a week later.
A paragraph towards the end of the article states -
"The camp'as only guest, a long distance kayaker had also been forced to flee."
