As it turned out the day was sunny so I took the oportunity to climb the 292m Mount Maunganui. Gonzo stayed with the tent. I think he was still coming to terms with his dunking of the previous day.
It was a far bigger task than I expected but gratifying none-the-less. It was amusing to see this sign, clearly placed for those descending the hill, suggesting that a moderate or high level of fitness was required. This, in my mind begged the question, what level was required for the ascent?
The tracks were pretty.
Some of the views were excellent.
Looking down on the campground. It was high!
It was interesting also to look back up the coast to see from where we'd come.
