I was also able to buy another flag, my third. I hoped that it would be 'third time lucky', and that I would not lose this one. Alternatively, I could take luck out of the equation and simply screw it in as it i designed to be.
I also went through my belongings and separated my spare rudder, my camera tripod, a flare (leaving me with two), a towel, a night navigation light and some smaller items such as a couple of spare pens. These I boxed up and addressed them to Auckland. I wanted to lessen the amount of equipment I needed to load and unload each time, and stop the repeated juggling to make everything fit.
The day was also spent eating (more burgers), and a good deal of time on the laptop also.
